Good Practice Project

Public services are just that; services provided by the government to the public.  Why then, do so many people still face discrimination, poor treatment and a lack of consideration from those who deliver services?

Stonewall Scotland's Good Practice Project has been commissioned by the Scottish Executive to look at the way that local services, such as the police, fire services and councils, provide for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in their area. Such services are not luxuries; they're basic rights and should be equally accessible to everyone.

You can help us with this work by taking part in quick, anonymous online survey about LGBT people's experiences of public services. It will take just five minutes, and you could win £50 for filling it in. Take the survey by clicking here.

And if you have more to say, or a story to tell about your experience of public services as an LGBT service user, please download our Good Practice Project case study form, or contact us.

For more information, or if you are a public service provider looking for advice, please contact Stonewall Scotland's Policy Officer, Gillian Miller, on email gillian.miller@stonewallscotland.org.uk or on direct dial: 0131 557 3793.
