BAME and POC LGBTQ+ Communities

The LGBT in Britain - Home and Communities Report shows persistent challenges for LGBTQ+ people in feeling comfortable being open about their sexual orientation or gender identity with their friends and family. Our report highlights deep challenges for the LGBTQ+ community, with alarming levels of racism experienced by black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) LGBTQ+ people, and a significant proportion of trans people, bi people, LGBTQ+ disabled people and LGBTQ+ people of faith feeling excluded within the LGBTQ+ community.

We have produced this page focused on 15 things LGBTQ people of colour want you to know. We also have videos on our YouTube channel exploring the topic.

GIRES have produced a document around BAME inclusivity.
