Discrimination and Harassment at Work

The Equality Act 2010 offers all employees including lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people protection in the workplace from discrimination, harassment and victimisation at work. These rules apply:

  • to any employees who are or are perceived to be lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans
  • to anyone experiencing discrimination because they associate with LGBT people
  • to all employers, regardless of the number of staff they employ or the amount of money they make
  • in all stages of employment from interview to termination of employment
