Network Group Masterclass 2023

LGBTQ+ network groups play a critical role in creating more inclusive workplaces and communities. However, leading them is a skilful and demanding role.

This one-day masterclass in Birmingham on 14 July 2023 will provide you with the leadership skills, practical knowledge and supportive network you need to succeed.

This is your chance to join over 100 LGBTQ+ network group members from a range of sectors to learn good practice, build your network and share ways to ensure your network group is a real force for change.

Why attend?

DEVELOP YOUR LEADERSHIP

Our selection of leadership workshops in the morning offer you the chance to:

  • Understand your leadership style and explore how to overcome challenges you're facing
  • Develop the tools and confidence to lead your network, regardless of seniority, in order to influence decisions and provide effective peer support
LEARN PRACTICAL SKILLS

Our selection of network group workshops in the afternoon offer you the chance to:

  • Attend a range of interactive workshops on emerging good practice for LGBTQ+ network groups
  • Learn and share ideas with other network group leaders to build a practical action plan tailored to your context
GROW YOUR NETWORK

Our networking zone offers you the chance to:

  • Join other network group chairs and committee members from leading organisations in the UK and around the world
  • Hear from other inspiring network group leaders about their challenges and successes
  • Benefit from opportunities to discuss and share ideas with others in interactive networking sessions

Who is the masterclass for?

This event is perfect for anyone who holds a leadership position in an LGBTQ+ network, such as the chair or co-chair or a committee member or representative. It is also well suited to other members of the network who hold specific roles in the group, such as a bi or trans rep.

If you’re looking to set up an LGBTQ+ network group or resource group then this is the perfect opportunity to learn practical skills to provide a strong foundation.

With the choice of workshops available, the masterclass is relevant for network groups at all stages of development, whether that's those just starting out, or those who are well-established.

How is it delivered?

The masterclass takes place 10:00-16:00 at The Studio in Birmingham (7 Cannon St. B2 5EP) on 14 July

We'll release the full event programme soon so check back for updates. You'll have a choice of a number of leadership skills workshops in the morning, complemented by a choice of afternoon workshops covering emerging good practice for network groups.

All workshops are interactive so you can learn and share with other delegates.

Last year's delegates said

One of the best trainings I've been on - such a great vibe and participation throughout was really lively. I felt really connected to other network leaders as a result.

The whole day was run smoothly and with plenty of opportunity for discussion and interaction, which made the environment feel engaging and collaborative.

A fantastic course, I feel really empowered to take action, better understand and connect within and out of the LGBTQ+ community to ensure we bridge that gap of inequity in my sector.
